RECIPES YOU WILL FIND ON PLANT N' SPICE
I share vegan recipes that are simple and easy to make, and the whole family would enjoy them! As much as I love to eat delicious foods, I don't like to spend an entire day in the kitchen. So my recipes are super quick to make; most are ready in 30 minutes or even less.
All my recipes are vegan, so meat-dairy and egg-free. But you will find many gluten-free recipes too! I'm not going to lie; baking is not my cup of tea, so there aren't many sweets or cakes on my blog, but you'll find my favourite easy-to-make desserts from my childhood.
HOW DID I GET HERE
Cooking has always been around me. My entire family is very passionate about cooking. My Dad, step Mom and my Sister, are all great cooks. Unfortunately, I can't see them often because we live apart, but whenever I visit them; coming back with plus 5kg on is a common thing 😀
Since I was 20, I have been travelling all around the world. At that time, my Father, my step Mom and my little sister lived in Cyprus, and I worked as an office manager in a small travel agency in Hungary. After I went to visit them, I completely fell in love with Cyprus. So I've decided to move there and start a new life.
I lived in Cyprus for almost five years. After Cyprus, I moved to the UK for 2,5 years and then decided to follow my Father to Sweden. After a few months, I moved to Copenhagen and lived there for five years. Those were the best years of my life.
And this is where and when my vegan journey started.
My mom has always been a big animal lover. She used to have a few dogs and rabbits, worked in an animal hospital and was a foster mom. She slowly started to become vegetarian and vegan, so whenever I went home, she cooked delicious meat-free dishes. I still remember; my first meal was a stuffed mushroom with ricotta cheese and rice. She always told me stories about how much the animals suffer and the dairy industry.
Slowly, slowly, I felt that I didn't want to take part in this. I don't want to hurt them anymore so I became vegetarian.
In 2016 I made my first Instagram account. I wanted to share with the world how easy to be a vegetarian. I started to share my recipes. Then after a year, I became vegan and changed my name to @vegan_kriszti, and I was even more passionate about it. I wanted to show people what delicious food they can have without hurting anyone.
Later on, I started to learn photography, and in 2021, finally, I completed my degree. I've had a few weddings, maternity and family photoshoots, but food photography has always been closer to my heart. And in 2022, I decided to go big and started my blog; this is how Plant n' Spice was born.
MORE ABOUT ME
Currently, I am living in Leeds with my boyfriend and working in a Japanese restaurant as a junior front-of-house manager, but hopefully, soon, I will be able to do my blog full time.
I love creating new recipes in my free time, but if I'm not in the kitchen, you can probably find me running next to the canal, training for my first marathon.
